What is content assist?

Guru’s content assist is a generative AI feature built into the Guru editor (and available in Slack!), designed to help your team create, edit, and improve content more efficiently. It’s like having ChatGPT built right into your documentation workflow—but with the structure, security, and trust of Guru.

Whether you’re drafting a new Card, updating stale content, or turning Slack threads into FAQs, Guru’s content assist helps get the job done faster. Authors can choose from out-of-the-box actions, like improve and adjust tone, or use custom prompts tailored to a specific voice and use case. Authors and readers can also use Guru’s content assist to instantly translate or summarize information in the format that’s most useful to them.

How it works

Draft or update content in the Guru editor

Use Guru’s content assist to generate content from scratch or refine existing writing in the Guru collaboratice editor. Adjust tone, fix grammar, or simplify language in just a click.

Choose from prebuilt or custom actions

Pick from actions like “Fix grammar,” “Summarize,” “Make more concise,” or create custom prompts to match your team’s tone or formatting needs.

Summarize Cards and Slack threads

Readers can generate TL;DRs or formatted lists directly in Guru. In Slack, content assist helps convert conversations into digestible, documented knowledge.

Content assist also respects all existing permissions, so content creation stays in the right hands.

How is my data being used by assist?

Any future changes to offer and pricing will be communicated in advance.Assist is still under the umbrella of our existing data security and privacy agreements, and no customer data will be stored with any third-party partners or used to train any third-party models. The data submitted through Assist is automatically deleted by third parties after being processed and is not used for any other purposes by third parties, such as model training.

We do not share any PII out-of-the-box. The only way we would share that information is if a customer explicitly included it in the card content.For more information on how we protect user data, visit our security page.

Into which languages can assist help translate knowledge?

Assist currently supports translation of knowledge into over 100 languages.

Can admins control how the content assist is used?

Absolutely. Admins can toggle specific actions on or off and create custom assist actions for different user groups ensuring alignment across teams.

Is Guru’s content assist available to all users?

Yes. Admins can also decide which roles or users have access to the content assist features within their organization.

Can content assist summarize Slack threads?

Yes! Guru’s content assist is integrated with Slack and can quickly summarize conversations or trending topics into Guru Cards, formatted as FAQs or summaries.
